My Path...

My yoga practice is my rock. Initially, it taught me strength when I thought that I had none and reminded me of my self-worth when I wasn’t sure it existed. Nowadays, my yoga practice is what keeps me steady and gives me the courage to keep my heart open and willing to deeply engage in my life.

I have studied yoga asana, meditation, and philosophy in Nepal, India, and the US with respected teachers Acharya V. Venkatesha, Sharath Rangaswamy Jois, Shari Friedrichsen, Max Strom, Nancy Goodstein, and Seane Corn among others.

I have been teaching hatha yoga for 20 years and it is still one of the things I love to do most in the world! I view yoga as a multilayered journey that inspires greater understanding of and connection to the true self within, as well as the intrinsic connection between each and every other living being. We are not separate.

I teach yoga because I think it works to give us (humans) a greater sense of wholeness and well-being. I notice in both myself and my students that we have greater empathy and compassion after practice. We are less reactive and more responsive. We are more willing and able to do the deep work of making this world a better place when we use the tools yoga offers.

My classes are hatha-vinyasa based and trauma informed - this means I focus on cultivating an organic flow between body and breath to calm and focus the mind while offering space, permission, and choice for how you need to practice. I incorporate subtle body awareness and nervous system regulation into my teaching as a way to find more freedom from within.
